About the Course

Tafseer is the science of interpreting and explaining the meanings of the Quran. This course goes beyond translation to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Quranic verses, including their historical context, linguistic nuances, and practical applications in modern life. Our scholars use authentic sources including classical Tafseer works like Tafseer Ibn Kathir, Al-Tabari, and contemporary interpretations.

Course Structure

Module 1: Introduction to Tafseer (Month 1)

• What is Tafseer and its importance
• Methodologies of Tafseer (Tafseer bil-Ma'thur and Tafseer bil-Ra'y)
• Sources of Tafseer: Quran, Hadith, Companions' opinions, Arabic language
• Introduction to Asbab al-Nuzul (Reasons for Revelation)

Module 2: Juz Amma (Surahs 78-114) - Months 2-3

• Detailed study of short Surahs commonly recited in prayers
• Understanding core Islamic beliefs and ethics
• Practical lessons for daily life
• Memorization with understanding

Module 3: Selected Surahs from Juz Tabarak (Surahs 67-77) - Months 4-5

• In-depth study of Surah Al-Mulk, Al-Qalam, Al-Haqqah, etc.
• Concepts of accountability, afterlife, and divine mercy
• Contemporary relevance of Quranic stories

Module 4: Surahs Al-Baqarah & Al-Imran (Selected Verses) - Months 6-8
